What is Product Velocity?

Product Velocity is a model for improving flow across the entire product lifecycle. It connects business decisions, system stewardship, engineering, and delivery. It’s application in organization aims to achieve software speed for cyberphysical products.

Delays rarely come from one place. They emerge at boundaries: Between teams, between decisions, implementation, architecture, and delivery.

Product Velocity addresses these breakdowns directly. Watch the talk by Dr. Michael Jastram at ReConf 2026, which explains how teams can start the conversation (German, subtitles in English available).

You work with four principles:

  • Value Thinking
  • Architect for Flow
  • Shift Left
  • Accelerate

The goal is simple: reduce time from decision to outcome.

What you will get

  • A clear model to analyze where time is lost
  • Practical methods to improve flow
  • A shared language across roles
  • Exercises that build understanding you can apply immediately

This is a training, not a workshop. You do not need to bring your own case.

Format

  • 2 days, in person in Munich
  • Individual exercises and guided sessions
  • Lunch and drinks included
  • Optional dinner after Day 1 (self-paid)

Language is English. Delivery switches to German if all participants are German. Materials are in English.

Why this matters

Many teams work hard and still move slowly. The problem is not effort. It is flow. It’s the practical application of Product Velocity.

Fix the flow, and velocity follows.
