Dr. Michael Jastram Speaking at INCOSE Systems Engineering Day (TdSE)

The German chapter of INCOSE (International Council for Systems Engineering) will have its annual conference from November 15–17 2023 in Würzburg. The “systems engineering day” (Tag des Systems Engineering, TdSE) is an exciting event where the community engages in thought-provoking discussions on the latest trends and advancements in Systems Engineering.

Dr. Michael Jastram will be present with a workshop on ontologies and a talk on systems engineering with AI.

Tutorial: From the concept model via formal concept analysis (FCA) to the ontology of requirements

In this tutorial, participants will learn to systematically create an ontology for a system under development. Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is used for this purpose. FCA is a mathematically sound method for identifying concept structures in datasets and making them understandable.

Talk: AI as a mediator between humans and system models: The path to a “single source of truth” in systems engineering

One of the major challenges in systems engineering is managing product complexity. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to mediate between humans and the system model. In this talk we show how a matching between human input and an internally managed system model could look like. The development system enables this by having its own understanding of “the truth” about the system under development (“single source of truth”). Each user input is checked against this model to find gaps, inconsistencies, or other problems.

Semiant makes these ideas possible

While these two events don’t focus on Semiant specifically, they elaborate on ideas that Semiant is helping our customers with.

We’d love to meet you at TdSE to discuss your challenges and what role AI-based systems engineering and Semiant could play in addressing them.
