That is the uncomfortable observation behind Product Velocity.
A faster task does not automatically create a faster product. A better model does not automatically create a better decision. A green status report does not mean value is moving. Product development accelerates when information reaches the right decision point while the decision still matters.

September 9: AI Accelerates Tasks. What Accelerates Product Development? (Webinar)
AI changes engineering work. It helps write, summarize, classify, generate, check, and search. That is useful. It is also incomplete.
A product does not move because one task got faster. A product moves when engineering information flows into decisions, decisions reach implementation, implementation reaches users, and feedback reaches the next cycle.

September 21 to 22: Product Velocity training with oose in Hamburg (Seminar)
The most practical format this fall is the two day German language training with oose in Hamburg: Komplexe Produktentwicklung beschleunigen.
The training focuses on complex technical product development. The oose page describes the goal clearly: learning how value flow, systems thinking, and targeted action make new functions usable faster.
The course is not an introduction to a single method. It connects several parts of engineering work that are often treated separately: bottlenecks, value flow, systems engineering, requirements, architecture, decisions, interfaces, handovers, MBSE, traceability, and 30 day improvement actions.
That combination matters.
Many organizations already know how to develop complex products. They have skilled engineers, established processes, and capable tools. The problem is that the path from need to usable feature contains too many waiting states. A requirement waits for clarification. A design waits for alignment. A model waits for adoption. A test waits for hardware. A decision waits for a meeting.
The training helps participants find those points in their own work. The goal is not a new large scale transformation program. The goal is a concrete intervention that starts where flow breaks today.

October 6: Anti-patterns in Product Development (Webinar)
A team can do good work and still contribute to slow product development.
That is the problem behind the German webinar Wenn alles grün ist und trotzdem nichts vorankommt: Anti-Patterns in der Produktentwicklung on October 6.
Marc Löffler and Michael Jastram discuss patterns that look healthy from the inside but slow the system from the outside. Green status reports are a good example. Each team reports progress. Each milestone looks controlled. No single metric screams for attention. Still, the product does not move.
This happens when reporting follows local completion rather than global flow. It also happens when teams optimize their own scope, protect their own backlog, or satisfy their own gate criteria while the product waits at interfaces.
Product Velocity treats these situations as system problems. The question is not which team failed. The question is where the development system rewards behavior that looks responsible locally and harmful globally.

October 22: Simulation as a Driver of Product Velocity (Conference Talk)
Simulation is one of the strongest instruments for faster learning in physical product development. It turns a question into a model, a model into insight, and insight into a decision.
That chain breaks when simulation becomes detached from the decision process.
At the CADFEM World Conference 2026, Michael Jastram will present “Simulation as a Driver of Product Velocity” on October 22 at 14:00 in Darmstadt.
The core idea is simple. Simulation accelerates product development when it changes a decision before the cost of changing direction becomes high.
That requires more than a good model. It requires the right question, fast access to engineering context, trust in the model boundary, a clear decision owner, and a flow of results back into requirements, architecture, and verification planning.
This is where simulation and Product Velocity connect. The value of simulation is not the image, report, or animation. The value is the earlier decision and learning while options still exist.

November 4: SysML v2 and Product Velocity (Webinar)
SysML v2 has the potential to change the role of modeling in engineering organizations.
The German webinar SysML v2 und Product Velocity: Wird Modellierung zur Engineering-Infrastruktur? asks what happens when models stop being specialist artifacts and become part of engineering infrastructure.

The question matters because many MBSE initiatives still struggle with adoption. Models exist, but they do not always influence daily engineering decisions. They document a view of the system, but they do not always shorten feedback loops. They support specialists, but they do not always connect engineering domains.
SysML v2 changes the technical basis. The larger question is organizational. What has to happen so that modeling helps the whole engineering system move faster?
From a Product Velocity perspective, the value of a model depends on its role in flow. A model helps when it clarifies interfaces, reduces ambiguity, exposes change impact, connects disciplines, and makes decisions easier to trace.
That is the difference between modeling as documentation and modeling as infrastructure.
